Everyone get out your Bible. (If you don’t have one, GET ONE!) Turn to the last book: ‘The Revelation’ – the only ‘prophecy book’ in the Bible. What are the main predictions of the future made in this book? Well, #1 is the return of the Christ! There are several things that have to happen in order for the ‘chosen one’ to return and for it to be recognized. One of the ‘main items on the checklist’ is the “destruction of Babylon” in Chapter 14, 16, 17, and all of 18. And if we interpret ‘Babylon’ literally – definition #1 – that would be the ruins of the ancient city about 50 miles south of Baghdad. Since the relatively recent dividing of territory into the Nation of Iraq, it and especially its capitol have been thought of by the Western World (and others) as ‘Babylon’. But if you really want to be literal… Could it be that US Military leaders and certain US Government leaders are well aware of this and wanted to fulfill prophecy? YES! It’s really the only logical explanation for turning one of the world’s most precious ancient cultural sites unnecessarily into a military base. There was really no other reason for the action. But what’s the greater implication of this?

Again, open your Bible to The Revelation 5:1-10:10. This part is actually the biggest sign of the Christ’s return. He would have to produce a “book/scroll” with “7 seals” on the cover that only he can write. Now imagine that this ‘Christ guy’ calls the White House (202-456-1414), shows up in DC with the booklet, certain people in the US Government have been watching him for years and recognize many signs, he provides ‘beyond Einstein’ answers to questions that have plaqued mankind for eons and these scientific theories are the “7 seals”, he performs a few miracles (like weather stuff) that convince the authorities something weird is going on, he’s cracked certain Masonic(74) codes, he properly identifies the 666 “1st Beast” (Ronald6 [letters] Wilson6 Reagan6) & “2nd Beast” (George6 Walker6 Bush Jr.6) of The Revelation Chapter 13 & 14, etc.

Now you know why the US Military ‘irresponsibly’ destroyed Babylon – it wasn’t irresponsible at all – it is the fulfillment of prophecy. And not just Christian prophecy, Jews see the signs and await the Messiah to make himself known and Muslims await the return of Jesus as their Messiah to pass judgment on humanity. Hindus even await the next great reincarnation of ‘the chosen one’. Of course, all these people have preconceived ideas (i.e. rebuilding ‘The Temple’ on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem) that are often in conflict with one another, so how is that going to play out? Also, if one opens your dictionary (if you don’t have one, GET ONE!), you’ll find the 2nd defintion of ‘Babylon’ is: any wicked city devoid of morality and displaying excess luxury. WOW, that sounds a lot like ALL American cities!! How is that goin’ to play out? Watch out! There is a God, the Christ has returned, and that crazy crap in the end of the Bible is actually coming true!

Whilst doing research on Babylon recently, I read your article dated july 2006. Despite over 2 years having passed I decided to write you.
With all due respect to the preservation of antiquity, which I am also very much in favour of, I would like to share some insight on the matter, from another reliable source.

“And Babylon, the decoration of kingdoms, the beauty of the pride of the Chaldeans must become as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. So she will never be inhabited, nor will she reside for generation after generation….. And jackals must howl in her dwelling towers and the big snake will be in the palace of exquisite delight……”
Isaiah 13 :19,20, 22

The book of Isaiah was completed in Jerusalem in 732 b.c. when Babylon was still prosperous, and this prophecy was accurately recorded there in, the Hebrew scriptures. The dead sea scrolls , containing the scroll of Isaiah is in full harmony with modern translations. This stands fulfilled til this day and despite efforts to rebuild this ancient city, it remains as foretold, a desolate wasteland.
