If Internet search coding is the problem, then you could indeed retain the term "Elgin marbles" for ease of reference.
However, once in your web site, you could refer to them according to their actual and correct name of "Parthenon sculptures" ( you see I agree with the term sculptures) .
A small note to that efffect should not be too difficult.

I am well aware of issues over the naming. The fact is though that most people initially think of them as the Elgin Marbles. If I never refer to them by that name, then my site will never be found by people searching the internet using that term.
Marbles is also a somewhat antiquated term - nowadays if one was describing them the term would tend to be Parthenon Sculptures - As in the name of the International Association for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures formed a year ago.

There is no such thing as: the Elgin marbles!

Dear Sirs,
If the ratio of Britons who want to return the Parthenon Marbles to Athens is 8 to 1....
If te vast majority of the British Pariament members is also in favour of returning them...
If we know that Lord Elgn used many unacceptable methods (even bribery) to get the marbles almost 2 centuries ago...
If Greece has showed the world that it is ready to receive the marbles and house them in the new Acropolis museum...
If Greece has already suggested co-curatorship of the marbles...

Then what is Tony Blair waiting for to submit a law in favour of such a noble act ?
That should be a nice good-bye present when he soon leaves power!

The British Museum and its trustees, being against such a move, show a very narrow and nationalistic cultural vision, but will just have to follow what the British people and its representatives want.

Suggestion: once the Parthenon marbles are placed in the Acropolis museum, why not have British people visit them at NO charge for the next 10 years ?
We can even have Scottish visitors bearing the last name Bruce receive a copy of one of the marbles as a special souvenir after their visit!

Anything, to get the marbles back where they belong and unite them with the rest!
