Posted on 25 April 2011 by Polina Dimea

The restoration of the Parthenon marbles is a national issue that appeals to every Greek soul.

Dr. Nik Lygeros is the Greek with the highest IQ score (189 of the Standford-Binet Intelligence scale). He is a mathematics lecturer at the University of Lyon. His passion for Greece is obvious throughout his whole work and his lectures related to people, history and culture of Greece. He is one who voted for the restoration of the Parthenon marbles.

“We can correct errors, if we want it. Why should Greek people feel wronged? The marbles are not items, are symbols. Caryatid is not a statue, is a woman. It is about the whole history of the country which shaped this marble, the stone of light. It is here that Europe was born, and everybody knows it and respects it”, Dr. Lygeros maintains.

Dr. Nik Lygeros was born in Volos in 1968. He is a mathematician, writer, poet, painter and director. He has worked on algebra, theory of numbers and the field of combenatorics. Over several years he has been a visiting professor at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is also the founder of the organization “Altruism in Cyprus”, which promotes collective applications against Turkey to the European Court of Human Rights. He is an expert translator and interpreter at French courts and has established the organization “The Pi Society”.
